Caracas (VENEZUELA), Jan. 3 (AP/LaPresse) – The Federal Aviation Authority, the US civil aviation agency, has banned US commercial flights in Venezuelan airspace due to “ongoing military activity”. The FAA notice, known as a Notice to Airmen, came shortly after one in the morning, US East Coast time, to warn all US commercial and private pilots that the airspace over Venezuela and the small island of Curaçao, just off the country’s northern coast, was off-limits “due to safety-of-flight risks associated with ongoing military activity”.
