Venezuela, von der Leyen: ‘We support the democratic transition in the country’

Rome, Jan. 3 (LaPresse) – European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said she is closely monitoring the situation in Venezuela. “We stand with the Venezuelan people and support a peaceful and democratic transition. Any solution must respect international law and the United Nations Charter,” she said. Von der Leyen added that, in collaboration with High Representative Kaja Kallas and EU member states, she is ensuring that European citizens in the country can count on the full support of the European Union.
