Venezuela, Sanchez: “US sets dangerous precedent, we will not remain silent”

Madrid (Spain), Jan. 6 (LaPresse) – Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez stated that the US attack in Venezuela constitutes a “very dangerous precedent” reminiscent of “other invasions driven by the thirst for oil” and assured that Spain will not “remain silent in the face of violations” of international law. “We also cannot accept that the territorial integrity of a European state is explicitly threatened, as in the case of Denmark,” the socialist leader said at a press conference in Paris at the end of the meeting of the Coalition of the Willing. Sanchez stated that Spain can act as a mediator and confirmed his intention to remain in contact both with Delcy Rodríguez, who was sworn in as president, and with Edmundo Gonzalez, who claims victory in the July 2024 presidential elections.
