Greenland: media, mission with Denmark, Sweden, France, Germany, Canada

Frankfurt (Germany), 14 January (LaPresse) – Denmark and its allies will strengthen their military presence in Greenland as part of extended exercises, against a backdrop of growing tensions with Washington over the island’s sovereignty. As reported by Politico, the Danish Ministry of Defence has announced the immediate deployment of additional air, naval and land assets to Greenland and surrounding areas, with activities including the reception of allied forces, the deployment of fighter jets and maritime security operations. According to European diplomatic sources, Sweden, France, Germany, Canada and the Netherlands are also participating in the mission.
