Turin, Jan. 16 (LaPresse) – “The so-called Islamic Republic is not the government of Iran. This is no longer simple repression, it is foreign occupation.” These were the words of Reza Pahlavi, son of the last Iranian shah, at a press conference in Washington. The regime “will fall. It is not a question of if, but when,” he explained, “it is ‘close to collapse.’ ”Today, as my compatriots ask me to be a leader, I reaffirm my lifelong promise to step forward and lead the movement that will take back our country from the hostile anti-Iranian force that occupies it,” he continued. “I will return to Iran. I am in a unique position to ensure a stable transition. This is not my opinion. It is the verdict expressed loud and clear by the people in the face of bullets.” Pahlavi said he has “a comprehensive plan for an orderly transition, ready to be implemented immediately.”
