Donald Trump explained this when responding to journalists who asked why he sided with interim president Rodriguez and not with Maria Corina Machado. “Do you remember a place called Iraq where everyone was fired, every single person, the police, the generals, everyone was fired, and in the end they became ISIS. Instead of getting to work, they became ISIS.
