Misrata (Libya), 18 January (LaPresse) – Regarding the immigration issue, ‘Libya, like Italy, is a transit country. Unfortunately, there has been an increase in departures from Libya in recent months, and we want to continue to strengthen our cooperation.’ This was stated by Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani during a press conference in Misrata. ‘We are also ready to train the Libyan police and we can work with the countries of departure,’ Tajani added, speaking about the issues discussed during his meeting with Libyan Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dabaiba. The head of the Foreign Ministry announced that the issue of Sudan was also discussed, where ‘a war is being fought that is not talked about enough.’ ‘We must take into account what is happening in this part of Africa and we must continue to collaborate with Libya and achieve better results,’ Tajani concluded.
