Gaza, United Kingdom will not join the Board of Peace

London, Jan 22 (LaPresse) – UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper announced that the United Kingdom will not join the Board of Peace today, joining a growing list of refusals including France, Norway, Sweden, and Slovenia. Speaking from the World Economic Forum in Davos, Cooper told the BBC that she is concerned about Russia’s role in shaping peace plans for other conflicts, in the context of the war against Ukraine. “We will not be among the signatories today, because this is a legal treaty that raises much broader issues, and we also have concerns about President Putin being part of something that involves peace,” Cooper said.
