Milan, 26 January (LaPresse) – The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) announced that they had found and identified the body of the last hostage still in the Gaza Strip, Sergeant Ran Gvili. The Times of Israel reports that military representatives have informed Gvili’s family that his body will be returned to Israel for burial. Gvili, a 24-year-old policeman, was killed while defending the Alumim kibbutz in southern Israel during the Hamas-led attack on 7 October 2023 that sparked the war in Gaza.
