USA, Berlin advises against traveling to Minneapolis: “Risk of violent clashes”

Frankfurt (Germany), Jan. 28 (LaPresse) – The German government has issued a travel warning for German citizens traveling to the United States, citing the risk of possible “violent clashes” with the authorities, particularly in Minneapolis. The warning, issued Tuesday by the German Foreign Ministry, refers to “Minneapolis and other cities” in the country. “In Minneapolis and other cities, demonstrations can sometimes degenerate into violent clashes with immigration and security authorities,” the statement reads. The ministry also urges German citizens in the affected areas to stay informed through local media, remain vigilant, and avoid gatherings or places where violence could occur. France has also updated its travel advice: last Saturday, the French Foreign Ministry recommended that citizens avoid downtown Minneapolis, stay informed, and refrain from participating in rallies or demonstrations.
