Rome, Jan 29 (LaPresse) – “We are following day by day the case of our fellow citizen, her daughter, and her husband, who is also an Italian citizen, but there the law is different from ours. We follow all cases of Italians abroad: there are 2,500 Italians detained, so just as we have handled the cases of Trentini, the young Piperno, or the young Sala, which we resolved, we resolve many others as well. It is not always easy, there are laws different from ours, but in any case the mother is followed day by day by our embassy, and a place where she can live has even been found, so she is being assisted in the best possible way.” This is what Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said on Realpolitik on Retequattro regarding the case of Nessy Guerra, an Italian woman blocked in Egypt and accused of adultery in the country along with her daughter Aisha. “We work and engage in dialogue and we can use the tool of diplomacy, nothing more. We cannot change the laws of the countries, these are unilateral decisions made by the countries,” the minister added.
