Rome, 31 January (LaPresse) – Senior US military officials have reportedly informed the leadership of a key US ally in the Middle East that President Donald Trump may authorise a US attack on Iran this weekend. The attacks could begin as early as Sunday if the US decides to proceed. This was reported by Drop Site News, citing several sources familiar with the matter. According to sources from the independent website, this would not involve ‘nuclear weapons or the missile programme’ but rather an attempt at ‘regime change’. In addition to targeting nuclear, ballistic and military sites, the strikes would also aim to ‘decapitate the Iranian government’, and in particular ‘the leadership and capabilities of the Revolutionary Guard Corps’.
