Cairo (Egypt), 2 February (LaPresse/AP) – Egyptian and Israeli security officials have confirmed that the Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt has been reopened to limited traffic. This is a crucial step as the ceasefire continues. An Egyptian official told the Associated Press on condition of anonymity that 50 Palestinians will cross the border in each direction on the first day of the crossing’s operation. Egyptian media have also confirmed the reopening.
