Moscow, 3 Feb. (LaPresse) – Russia will be represented at the upcoming Abu Dhabi talks on Ukraine “by the same delegation” as the last meeting. This was announced by Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov. The talks will begin tomorrow and continue until Thursday. This is reported by Ria Novosti.
On the war front, the agency reports that Ukrainian soldiers are reportedly abandoning their positions in a hasty manner in the Krasnopolsky district, in the Sumy oblast. “The defenses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are literally collapsing, personnel are fleeing and abandoning their weapons,” said a source from the agency, adding that empty alcohol bottles and personal protective equipment were found at the abandoned positions. The Russian group “Nord” operates in the area.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, in the last 24 hours Ukrainian forces suffered losses of up to 250 soldiers, as well as the destruction of one armored combat vehicle, 14 vehicles, two artillery pieces, and five logistical depots. Russian President Vladimir Putin also stated that the army is carrying out “successfully” the task of creating a security buffer zone along the border with the Sumy region.
