Muscat (Oman), 6 February (LaPresse/AP) – Oman has reported that it has mediated indirect talks between Iran and the United States on Tehran’s nuclear programme. According to reports in X by the Foreign Ministry, Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi met separately with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, then with US Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, son-in-law of President Donald Trump. ‘The consultations focused on preparing the appropriate conditions for the resumption of diplomatic and technical negotiations, ensuring the importance of these negotiations, in light of the parties’ determination to ensure success in achieving sustainable security and stability,’ the Omani announcement read.
