USA, hundreds protest in front of Washington Post headquarters against layoffs

Washington (USA), Feb. 6 (LaPresse) – Several hundred people gathered in front of the Washington Post headquarters to protest the ownership’s decision to lay off hundreds of journalists. The Post has not disclosed the number of jobs cut. The New York Times reported that about 300 of its 800 journalists were laid off. Most foreign correspondents were dismissed, including all journalists covering the Middle East and the correspondent from Ukraine in Kyiv. Additionally, the sports and books sections were eliminated. The newspaper has been published since 2013 by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
