Jakarta, Feb. 10 (LaPresse) – Indonesia has announced that it is preparing to send up to 8,000 soldiers to Gaza as part of a peacekeeping force under U.S. President Donald Trump’s Middle East plan. The announcement by the Chief of Army Staff, General Maruli Simanjuntak, makes Indonesia the first country to commit specifically to the International Stabilization Force (ISF) planned as part of the second phase of Trump’s plan. Maruli stated that he expects to deploy an army brigade, composed of 5,000-8,000 troops, but emphasized that the mission is still in the planning phase. “Everything is still under negotiation, it is not yet certain. So there is no certainty about the number of troops, for now,” Maruli said.
