Milan, 11 February (LaPresse) – Hungarian opposition leader Peter Magyar has denounced on social media the use by Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s administration of an alleged intimate video to blackmail and discredit him ahead of the upcoming elections. ‘They have been blackmailing and threatening me with video recordings and defamation for some time, and it seems that on the anniversary they will launch a Russian-style campaign, which until now was considered unthinkable,’ Magyar wrote in a post on X. “Today (yesterday, ed.) they sent many journalists a link showing a room filmed by a camera. I imagine they intend to release a recording, possibly falsified, made with secret service equipment, showing me and my then girlfriend in an intimate moment.‘ ’Yes, I am a 45-year-old man and I have a sex life. With an adult partner. I have three minor children, who are obviously of no interest to this “family-friendly” power,‘ Magyar continues, ’but it is good for everyone to know that neither now nor in the future will I give in to any blackmail.”
