Munich (Germany), 13 February (LaPresse) – ‘We have made many compromises. Putin and his friends are not in prison. This is the biggest compromise the world has ever made.’ This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking to Politico on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference. For Zelensky, Ukraine ‘cannot forget’ how many people were killed during the war, but Kiev is ready to end it at any moment. Putin, however, ‘shows no genuine interest in doing so, so more pressure on Russia is needed.’ ‘I don’t think they want to stop the war. I think they can do it… under pressure. That’s why, until there is enough pressure, they play,’ the Ukrainian leader explained. Regarding the fact that the United States is exerting similar pressure on Ukraine and Russia, Zelensky commented: ‘There are some thoughts I have to keep to myself.’
