Milan, 19 February (LaPresse) – Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been arrested on charges of misconduct in public office in connection with his ties to Jeffrey Epstein. The news was first reported by the BBC and later confirmed by the police. “As part of the investigation, today (19 February) we arrested a man in his 60s from Norfolk on suspicion of misconduct in public office and we are carrying out searches at several addresses in Berkshire and Norfolk. The man remains in police custody at this time,” read a statement from the UK police. Deputy Chief Constable Oliver Wright said: ‘After careful consideration, we have launched an investigation into this allegation of misconduct in public office. It is important to protect the integrity and objectivity of our investigation as we work with our partners to investigate this alleged offence. We understand the considerable public interest in this case and will provide updates at the appropriate time.’ According to The Telegraph, six police cars arrived at former Prince Andrew’s home in Sandringham shortly after 8 a.m. local time. Police assessed allegations against Mountbatten-Windsor that emerged from Jeffrey Epstein’s files, including that he shared sensitive information with the paedophile financier when he was trade envoy to the UK.
