Iran, Axios: ‘Among Trump’s options is “symbolic” enrichment, but only if there is no bomb’

Milan, 21 February (LaPresse) – The Trump administration is willing to consider a proposal from Iran that would allow Tehran “symbolic” nuclear enrichment as long as it leaves no possibility of developing nuclear weapons. This was explained by a US official to Axios, according to whom another scenario would be the “elimination of the Ayatollah and his son and the mullahs”. Axios points out that the symbolic enrichment scenario suggests that “there may be an opening, albeit a small one, between the red lines set by the United States and Iran for an agreement aimed at limiting Iran’s nuclear capabilities and preventing war”. At the same time, however, the publication points out that Trump has been presented with military options that involve directly targeting Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
