Ukraine, Zelensky: ‘Putin has failed to achieve his objectives, he has not won the war’

Rome, 24 February. (LaPresse) – ‘Putin has not achieved his goals. He has not broken the Ukrainians. He has not won this war. We have saved Ukraine and we will do everything possible to achieve peace. And so that there is justice.’ These are the words of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in a message released on the fourth anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. ‘Today,’ the Ukrainian president continued, ‘it has been exactly four years since Putin took Kiev in three days. And that actually says a lot about our resistance, about how Ukraine has fought all this time. Millions of our citizens stand behind these words. These words represent a lot of courage, a lot of hard work, resistance and a long journey that Ukraine has been on since 24 February.’
