Budapest, 25 Feb. (LaPresse) – “Yesterday, the leaders in Brussels, with Ursula von der Leyen at the forefront, reached an agreement with President Volodymyr Zelensky to continue the war. This is bad news for Europe. A war that clearly has no solution on the battlefield is being prolonged, causing immense destruction.” This was written on social media by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban. “Continuing the war costs European citizens enormous sums of money. Hundreds of billions of euros are being wasted with no results. In this war, it is not the Russians who are being crushed, but the Europeans. Moreover, the risk of nuclear escalation remains, as Europe is facing a nuclear power,” he explained. According to Orban, “last week in Munich, the opposition party leader Tisza, under German auspices, concluded a secret pact with the Brussels leaders. In exchange for the support of Brussels and Kyiv, he would have dragged Hungary into the group of European countries at war, agreed to provide additional financial support to Ukraine, and cut Hungary off from affordable oil and gas,” he added. “Hungary must stay out. The Hungarian government must safeguard the country’s security. Hungarians can count on us: this is exactly what we will do,” he concluded.
