Washington (USA), 27 February (LaPresse/AP) – NASA has reorganised its Artemis lunar landing programme. The agency’s new administrator, Jared Isaacman, announced the revision of the flight sequence, a few days after the new lunar rocket returned to its hangar in Florida for further repairs. Artemis II – a flight around the Moon with four astronauts – has been postponed until at least April. The next mission, Artemis III, aimed for a landing near the Moon’s south pole by another crew of astronauts. However, Isaacman said this mission will now focus on testing a lunar lander in Earth orbit in 2027. The test will likely be followed by two lunar landings by astronauts in 2028. NASA then said it will add an extra Artemis lunar mission with astronauts before attempting a high-risk manned moon landing.
