Iran, Araghchi to Lavrov: “Decisive action needed from UN and international community”

Rome, February 28 (LaPresse) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, in a phone call with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov, stressed “the importance of decisive action by the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to stop aggressive actions and hold criminals accountable.” Araghchi referred to the attack on the school in Minab, which left dozens dead, calling “this military aggression a serious violation of the fundamental principles of the UN Charter and a clear crime against international peace and security,” and stressed Iran’s inherent right to defend the country with all its might. “The Russian foreign minister,” Araghchi said in a statement, “has called for an urgent meeting of the Security Council to address the situation.”
