Iran, WSJ: Israel hacked prayer app to urge desertion

Washington (USA), 28 February (LaPresse) – Israel hacked a popular Iranian prayer app this morning to send notifications to potentially millions of phones, urging military personnel to desert the regime and join the fight to liberate the country. This was reported by the Wall Street Journal, citing sources close to the matter. The app, BadeSaba Calendar, is designed to help Muslims keep track of prayer times and is widely used in Iran. It has been downloaded more than 5 million times from the Google Play app store alone. This morning’s wave of app notifications was sent in Persian and included a message saying “help has arrived”, according to various screenshots posted on social media.
