Madrid (Spain), 6 March (LaPresse) – The Spanish public prosecutor has sought a ten-and-a-half-year prison sentence for footballer Rafa Mir, who is accused of rape and bodily harm. The news was reported by the Spanish media. In September 2024, when Mir was playing for Valencia on loan from Sevilla, he was arrested after being reported by a woman. The two had met in a nightclub and then went to his home together with two of his friends and a friend of hers. Mir, who now plays for Elche on loan from Sevilla, remained in prison for almost two days as the alleged perpetrator of a sexual assault and personal injury offence. He was subsequently released on bail. The footballer has denied the allegations. His friend Pablo Jara, also a footballer, was reported by the other woman.
