Iran, Hezbollah congratulates on the election of Mojtaba Khamenei

Beirut (Lebanon), Mar. 9 (LaPresse) – In a statement, Hezbollah congratulated the Iranian leadership and people on the election of Mojtaba Khamenei as the third Supreme Leader, succeeding Ali Khamenei, who was assassinated in an Israeli air strike on Feb. 28. Hezbollah praised the “blessed efforts and the historic and legitimate responsibility assumed by the Assembly of Experts, which quickly elected a new leader despite the difficult circumstances and the criminal U.S.-Israeli aggression against the Islamic Republic, as well as the attempts to target the Assembly of Experts to prevent the election of the new leader”. This was reported by L’Orient Le Jour. “These rapid and wise elections send a strong message to the enemies of the Islamic Republic and the nation: Iran, with its leadership and its people, will not be intimidated by the terrorism of the aggressors,” the group added, “we pray to Almighty God to guide Ayatollah Sayyid Mojtaba Khamenei to continue on this authentic path traced by Imam Khomeini… and to emerge victorious from this aggression, stronger and more resilient”.
