Iran, Pasdaran announce allegiance to new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei

Milan, 9 March (LaPresse) – The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced its allegiance to the new supreme leader in a statement. ‘The Guard, as the powerful soldier and armed wing of the supreme leader, is ready to follow the orders of supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei, while supporting the choice of the assembly,’ the Guard said in a statement broadcast by state media. The Revolutionary Guards, known as the Pasdaran, are responsible for missile operations in the war against the United States and Israel. The country’s police chief also announced his obedience to the new leader in a separate statement.
