Iran, Putin congratulates Mojtaba Khamenei: ‘Unconditional support’

Rome, 9 March (LaPresse) – Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Mojtaba Khamenei on his election as Supreme Leader of Iran. The news was reported by Tass. Putin emphasised ‘unconditional support for Tehran’ and ‘Russia’s solidarity with the Iranian people’. He also expressed his certainty that Khamenei will continue his father’s work and ‘unite the Iranian people in the face of the challenges they will face’. In his message to Khamenei, Putin once again called the attack on Iran ‘armed aggression’.
