Iran, Rubio: ‘We are on track to destroy missile threat’

Rome, 9 March (LaPresse/AP) – US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the United States is ‘on track’ to destroy Iran’s ability to threaten its neighbours and the world with missiles. Speaking at a State Department ceremony honouring Americans unjustly detained abroad in countries such as Iran, Rubio said the goal of continued US air strikes is to eliminate Iran’s stockpile of ballistic missiles, its ability to produce them and its ability to launch them. ‘We are well on our way to achieving that goal,’ he said, adding that this is being done ‘with overwhelming force and overwhelming precision.’
