Washington (USA), 13 March (LaPresse) – The man who yesterday drove his van into the synagogue in West Bloomfield, Michigan, had lost four family members in an air strike in Lebanon the previous week. This was reported by an imam from Dearborn Heights, Michigan, and a Lebanese official who said he knew the man and his family, according to the New York Times. The attacker has been identified by federal authorities as Ayman Mohamad Ghazali, a 41-year-old naturalised US citizen born in Lebanon. He lived in the Detroit area, where a mosque held a memorial service this week for his slain family members. This was stated by Imam Hassan Qazwini of the Islamic Institute of America, who officiated at the service despite not knowing Ghazali personally.
