Turin, 17 March (LaPresse) – Israel targeted senior Iranian official Ali Larijani in an air raid in Iran overnight. This was reported by The Times of Israel, citing Israeli sources. It is unclear whether Larijani, secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, was killed or wounded in the attack, the sources emphasise. Another Israeli air raid in Iran targeted the leader of Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Akram al-Ajouri, and other senior officials of the terrorist group, according to defence sources. The Chief of Staff of the Israel Defence Forces (IDF), Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, appears to confirm the details. During a briefing this morning, Zamir stated that “significant successes in terms of eliminations were also recorded overnight, with the potential to influence the campaign’s outcomes and the IDF’s missions”, in what appears to be a reference to the attack on Larijani.
