Ukraine, Zelensky: ‘Ready to respond to breaches of the Easter truce’

Frankfurt (Germany), 11 April (LaPresse) – “Today we have set out the parameters of our response to any potential breach of the ceasefire by the Russian army. We all know who we are dealing with. Ukraine will respect the ceasefire and respond with equal resolve. The absence of Russian attacks in the air, on land and at sea will mean no response from us.‘ Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote this on X. ’The Ukrainian army is ready for any developments on the front line. Ukraine has repeatedly proposed various ceasefire formulas to Russia, and we believe that Easter should be a period of silence and security. An Easter ceasefire could also mark the beginning of a genuine step towards peace: our side has put forward the relevant proposal,‘ Zelenskyy wrote further, explaining that he had ’discussed with the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces the procedures for Ukrainian units in the event of a ceasefire. Information regarding the symmetrical nature of our actions and the possible extension of the ceasefire beyond Easter has also been communicated to the Russian side.”
