Iran, Tajani: ‘I reiterated to Araghchi the importance of dialogue and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz’

Rome, 22 April (LaPresse) – ‘During my meeting with my Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, I reiterated to him the need to continue the Islamabad dialogue, to reach a peace agreement, the importance of freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, the need to protect the countries of the Gulf region, and the importance of not proceeding with the development of nuclear weapons.’ This was stated by Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani on the sidelines of an event in Rome with Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski. As for Lebanon, “I insisted on the need to urge Hezbollah to reach an agreement and thus to stop attacking Israel, and I reiterated that we are also ready to host talks between Lebanon and Israel in Italy to find a positive agreement,” added the Foreign Minister. “We are working for peace,” he concluded.
