London, two people stabbed in Jewish neighborhood: suspected attacker detained

London, Apr. 29 (LaPresse) – Two people were stabbed in the Golders Green neighborhood, in the northern area of London where a large Jewish community lives. This was reported by Sky News. The suspected individual has been detained. According to Shomrim, a security organization of the Jewish community, “a man was seen running along Golders Green Road armed with a knife and attempting to stab some passersby of Jewish faith.” The same individual was then “immediately stopped” by the security service and subsequently “police intervened using a taser.” The suspect is currently in custody. “There has been a shocking attack against two Jewish Londoners in Golders Green. Police have made an arrest and I would like to thank all the emergency services and the heroic volunteers of Hatzola and Shomrim London in the area for their rapid response to this horrible incident. I am in close contact with the Metropolitan Police who will provide further updates,” said London Mayor Sadiq Khan on X. “London’s Jewish community has been the target of a series of shocking antisemitic attacks. There must be absolutely no place for antisemitism in society.”
