Brussels, May 13 (LaPresse) – To address developments related to the Hantavirus, the rotating Cypriot EU presidency has activated the IPCR crisis response device. “As a precaution, we have decided to use Integrated Political Crisis Response (IPCR) meetings to monitor the situation and facilitate information sharing among member states,” says a spokesperson for the rotating Cypriot EU Presidency. According to reports in Brussels, the Commission today gave the ambassadors of the 27 Member States an overview of the situation and the efforts made so far to ensure coordination. Although the risk to the population is low, monitoring of the epidemiological situation will continue. The relevant EU health facilities have been activated since the first notification sent via the EU’s early warning and response system on 9 May.
