Beijing (China), May 13 (LaPresse) – US President Donald Trump has arrived in Beijing ahead of his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. A summit that will focus on the war in Iran, the trade and sales of U.S. weapons to Taiwan. Trump has no public events scheduled today other than his arrival, while he will meet Xi on multiple occasions on Thursday and Friday. The Chinese gave Trump a pompous welcome after Air Force One landed in the capital. The White House had anticipated that the president would be welcomed by Chinese Vice President Han Zheng, Xie Feng, China’s ambassador to Washington, Ma Zhaoxu, deputy executive minister of foreign affairs, and U.S. envoy to Beijing, David Perdue. The welcoming ceremony is expected to be attended by around 300 young Chinese, a military honor guard and a military band.
