Milan, 21 May (LaPresse) – ‘I am outraged. Israel has the right to defend itself, but it does not have the right to humiliate prisoners – defenceless people who have not committed acts of violence and who are not terrorists.’ This was stated by Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani in an interview with *Avvenire*. ‘It is one thing to maintain a naval blockade; it is quite another to call into question people’s dignity and safety. I feel particularly sorry for the people of Israel, who do not deserve a minister like Ben-Gvir. Italy, however, is demanding an explanation from the Israeli government for what has happened,’ added the Foreign Minister.
