Milan, 23 May (LaPresse) – In France, a man in his thirties was charged and remanded in custody yesterday on suspicion of “terrorist conspiracy”. This is according to the broadcaster Bfmtv. A member of a pro-jihadist Telegram channel, he is suspected of having exchanged information about a planned attack in northern France with two teenagers arrested in February, who were planning to carry out a terrorist act in Lille. It was whilst examining the phones of the two radicalised teenagers from northern France that investigators discovered a Telegram group in which around ten people were discussing Islamic law (Sharia) and jihadism. The group’s profile picture showed the face of Sami Amimour, one of the terrorists responsible for the Bataclan massacre. Three other suspects who were part of the online group were arrested on Tuesday 19 May, including the man in his thirties and two boys, one aged 17. The two boys were released without charge, whilst the man in his thirties has been formally charged.
