Milan, 28 May (LaPresse) – An Israeli soldier has been killed and two reservists wounded in an attack carried out yesterday by Hezbollah – using explosive drones – in northern Israel, near the border with Lebanon. This was reported by the “Times of Israel”, citing an announcement by the Israeli army. The soldier who died was Rotem Yanai, 20, a maintenance non-commissioned officer with the Rotem Battalion of the Givati Brigade, originally from Giv’at Ada. According to a preliminary army investigation, two drones launched by Hezbollah exploded in a military zone on the border during the attack. One of the drones killed Yanai as she was running towards a shelter. The second drone seriously injured one reservist and moderately injured another. Once detected, the drones triggered air raid sirens in the area. However, they were not intercepted.
