Frankfurt (Germany), 14 June (LaPresse) – Six people have died in Brazil after two helicopters collided in mid-air and crashed into an area where vehicles were parked in the Recreio dos Bandeirantes district of Rio de Janeiro. This was reported by Globo. According to the fire brigade, the alarm was raised at 9 am on Sunday following the crash of two aircraft along Avenida das Américas, near Beth Lago and Rivad via Campos streets. The two small aircraft are believed to have collided in mid-air before crashing into a car park, where the impact caused a fire that engulfed several vehicles. Five of the victims were on board a helicopter, whilst the pilot was alone in the other aircraft: all of them died. On social media, local residents reported hearing a series of explosions immediately after the accident.
