Milan, June 15 (LaPresse) – In a written statement, Hezbollah congratulated Iran for its “great achievement” in reaching an agreement with the United States and expressed “deep gratitude” to the Islamic Republic for insisting that any deal include a ceasefire in Lebanon. “Iran once again confirms itself as a truly valuable ally and strong supporter,” the Shiite group stated, adding that it hopes for the “full liberation of our land, the return of our prisoners to their homeland and their families.” The Lebanese militant group also said that “there will be no return to the situation that existed before March 2,” referring to the 15 months preceding the latest war with Israel, when a ceasefire was officially in place but Israel continued to carry out regular attacks in Lebanon with the stated aim of preventing Hezbollah from rebuilding itself.
