Frankfurt (Germany), 16 June (LaPresse) – The German Federal Prosecutor’s Office believes that Hamas was preparing a concrete attack in Europe, according to findings from investigations into an alleged logistical support network linked to the Palestinian organisation. During the annual press conference of the Office of the Federal Prosecutor General in Karlsruhe, Federal Prosecutor Jens Rommel revealed that a video claiming responsibility, ready for release, had been seized from one of the suspects. According to investigators, the material announced an attack planned to coincide with the second anniversary of Hamas’s attack on Israel on 7 October 2023, thus referring to a possible attack around 7 October 2025. In recent months, the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office has ordered the arrest of nine alleged Hamas supporters. The suspects are accused of having been involved, since at least the summer of 2025, in the transport and storage of weapons and ammunition on behalf of the organisation. The first three arrests in connection with the investigation were made on 1 October 2025, a few days before the anniversary of the attack in Israel.
