Rome, 17 June (LaPresse) – In a statement released overnight, G7 leaders affirmed their support, “through an immediate and robust ceasefire”, for “the efforts of the Lebanese leadership to achieve the disarmament of Hezbollah and a monopoly on the use of force, and to protect Lebanon’s territorial integrity and sovereignty with adequate international security guarantees”. With regard to Gaza, “we will step up humanitarian and reconstruction efforts and the swift implementation of relevant political and security measures”. Finally, the ‘Big Seven’ called for an end to the violence in the West Bank.
