Rome, 17 June (LaPresse) – “We have taken stock of the situation and listened to the requests from businesses. It seems to me that things are looking up, both for gas and for oil, even though the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz will be gradual – but this is already significant. A few ships have already passed through, and this bodes well for the economy.” This was stated by the Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani, at the conclusion of the meeting at the Farnesina on the Strait of Hormuz with Italian ambassadors and businesses in the Gulf region. “We are also monitoring very closely the Italian ships that are currently stranded in the Gulf region. There is one in particular, owned by Grimaldi, with an Italian crew on board, and we are trying to ensure that its departure from the Strait of Hormuz can be expedited,” the minister added. “Our embassies, in Tehran, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, are monitoring developments in the situation alongside the Crisis Unit,” he concluded.
