Brussels, June 18 (LaPresse) – “Donald Trump has done a lot for Ukraine.” This is what NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said upon arriving at the Alliance Defence Ministerial meeting. “First of all,” he recalled, “it was him who broke the deadlock with President Putin last year. He resumed dialogue with him to end this war, and only the American president could do that, and he did so consistently with Jared Kushner, Steve Witkoff, Marco Rubio.” In addition, “when it comes to providing Ukraine with the crucial aid it needs, such as interceptor missiles or Patriot systems, it is the President of the United States who makes it possible, funded by European and Canadian allies. And this crucial flow,” he added, “is now reaching Ukraine. They need it to defend their cities and critical infrastructure. The United States is present everywhere. The G7 joint statement on common support for Ukraine was positive.”
