Rome, 20 June (LaPresse) – Technical-level talks between the United States and Iran are expected to begin in Switzerland “in one or two days”. This is according to Pakistani government sources speaking to the Turkish news agency Anadolu. “Pakistan, together with other mediators, is in contact with both sides, who are expected to meet in Switzerland in one or two days’ time to begin the next phase of the Memorandum of Understanding,” said a source close to the mediation process. Pakistani Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi left for Tehran today to discuss the next phase of the talks with the Iranian leadership, according to Iranian state media. Tehran has postponed the talks with the United States in protest against Israel’s “continuous” violations of the ceasefire in Lebanon.
