Milan, 21 June (LaPresse) – The Criminal Court of Tripoli has sentenced Libyan General Osama Almasri to 7 years and 4 months’ imprisonment for “violating the rights of prisoners” through his “involvement in torture and humiliating treatment” within the main prison in the African country’s capital. This has been reported by Libyan media, which emphasise that Almasri has also been stripped of his legal citizenship and civil rights for the entire duration of his sentence, as well as for one year following its completion.
