Brussels, June 22 (LaPresse) – Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko will soon discuss the situation related to threats from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky against Belarus. This was reported by Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, cited by Interfax. Asked whether Putin and Lukashenko intended to discuss Zelensky’s statement, in which he allegedly threatened to “shut down” signal repeater equipment along the border if it were not removed within a week, he replied: “Certainly, and you know that Alexander Grigoryevich (Lukashenko) has spoken about it, he intends to establish contacts in the near future. This will be a good opportunity to discuss these and other issues.” For Peskov, this is an “absolutely aggressive threat, (it is) an interference in the internal affairs of another country, a violation of the sovereignty of another country.” “But we have no doubt that the Belarusian leadership and Belarus itself are capable of ensuring their sovereignty,” he stressed.
